JERUB, Toby Gad – “Alone Tonight”
Honestly, a really good piano ballad just hits different when you’re in your feelings, and this track completely nails it. JERUB and Toby Gad teamed up to capture that specific kind of loneliness.. like when everyone around you is having a great time, but you’re just totally stuck in your own thoughts.
It starts out bare-bones with just a piano, but then these gorgeous strings sweep in and turn the whole thing into an incredibly emotional moment, also thanks to JERUB’s voice, which is the real star here: it’s so raw and expressive it gives you chills. Knowing Toby Gad is behind this makes total sense (this incredible artist co-wrote “All of Me”, after all), but bringing JERUB in gives it this fresh and young energy that stops it from feeling like just another generic pop slow-burner.
Even though it’s a sad song, it doesn’t leave you feeling totally down in the mess: somehow, it turns that lonely feeling into something comforting. Definitely a mandatory addition to the late night crying playlist.
SPACE3GHXSTX – “RX78 Type”
SPACE3GHXSTX goes totally rogue with his latest banger “RX78 Type”, bringing us a tune that’s completely off the script. It’s a wild crossover of hybrid trap and dark R&B that pulls you straight into another dimension. The track hits immediately with heavy bass, incredibly atmospheric synths, and smooth vocals floating right over the mix.
The bass on those 808s is no joke, but what really got us is how this phenomenal artist handles the sci-fi stuff. Talking about chrome, holograms, and lethal models usually ends up sounding a bit cheap, but he actually makes it feel effortless and kind of seductive. Also, his vocals have this genuine and raw warmth that keeps the whole thing feeling extremely unique.
It’s dark, super atmospheric, and crazy enough to stick in your head long after the song ends. If you’re looking for something heavy, moody, and completely different, press play on this. You’ll thank us later.
Summerhouse – “All I Know”
Summerhouse makes falling back into a terrible decision sound way too good. This debut from Hackney-based producer Conall Hill completely hits the nail on the head when it comes to that toxic relationship cycle where you swear you’re done.. until you’re right back at their place in the middle of the night.
The production is just chef’s kiss for that kind of mess. Here we have: wonderful keys, crazy groove, and dark synths creating this hazy atmosphere. Then Angie Robba’s vocals merge in: she sounds ethereal and dreamy, which creates this amazing contrast against the heavier drumbeat underneath. Just when you think the song is settling down, the guitars explode into this euphoric and colorful rush before fading out without fixing anything. Exactly like a bad habit.
This is a blend of indie rock, dream pop, and these kind of psych vibes in a way that feels totally fresh. Huge debut, honestly. If this is just step one for Summerhouse, well, then we can’t wait to hear what’s coming next.
LJ and the Ray Band – “Heels”
Look, if you’re trying not to dance to this, you’re gonna lose that battle. LJ & The Ray Band bring the fun back to pop with “Heels”, and trust us, it’s a total blast! It’s this wild and infectious blend of disco, funk, and modern pop that hits you with a killer groove right from the start.
The track has a classic and retro bounce to it, but the mix is way too crisp to feel like some dusty throwback.
