HYPERSPACE: Best Discoveries of the Week – Episode One Hundred
Hey Space Travellers,
Fasten your seatbelt and get ready for the hyperspace jump.
Twice Dark – “Telekinetic”
We gonna start with one of our favorite genres here at Space Sour. If you like Synthwave that leans towards Darkwave you are going to love this artist. Here we have Twice Dark with the single Telekinetic. The sound design of this track is incredibly well curated. You could easily feel that the track was recorded back in the day, especially thanks to the vintage sound of the vocals, that have that warmth reminiscing of analog machines, something that as producers we love. The instrumentation is incredibly good as well, every synth sits perfectly in the mix, and the bassline, lead synth and drum merge in a sublime way, creating a great balance that will make the song catchy to every ear.
ELIJAH KUSEL – “Born Too Close To The Sun”
We are going to stay in the United States territory a bit more, as we are going to meet with another great artist. Here we have Elijah Kusel with his trippy new release called Born Too Close To The Sun. This is the perfect track we would listen to during a lazy afternoon, maybe a bit high as well. The track has some incredibly good guitar licks, with a soothing tone and often the right effect at the right time. The track is mainly psychedelic rock, but it has some melody and arrangement lines that can remind us of works from Tame Impala. Anyway, Elijah Kusel has his own identity, which is pretty strong and recognizable. This is thanks to his swagger on the vocals, a peculiar style that conveys the intention of the song clearly, and we love it.
Mary Knoblock – “Excuse Me While I Go Fall in Love”
As you know here at Space Sour we love exploring different genres and going beyond the limits of the typical labels you find in music. That’s why also in this article we are sharing incredible music like the single Excuse Me While I Go Fall In Love by the talented Mar Knoblock. If you are into Avant-Garde music, that’s your jam. We loved the experimentation that happens on the track, especially on the vocals. We feel that Bjork had an impact on the artist since Mary feel deliberately free to go into different soundscapes and melodies without feeling restrained by the typical structure or production of a track. The instrumentation gives the right space to the vocals while maintaining a theme that’s gonna make the listeners dive more easily into the song’s core.
AMELIA LIZ – “Heartbeat”
For this next track, we are flying directly to Dublin. Here we’ll meet with an incredibly fresh artist called Amelia Liz, which recently released the track Heartbeat. The song is produced by Portuguese producer TALVS and co-written by Amelia Liz and EJ Mae. We felt this combo was really spot-on. We loved the melody, and how easily the track gets stuck in your head. The ear candies and various subtle vocals and sound design make the track stand out from the rest of the Electro-pop tracks you find around. This is a very catchy Alterative Pop tune with some trap inspirations. Not only this, bu the saturated vocals sound fantastic in the mix, and make the song even more peculiar and special.
ROBIN SANDOVAL – “Ghost Dance”
If you are missing Halloween already, don’t worry. We have a track that’s perfect for you. We are flying to LA now, and here with us we have Robin Sandoval with the track Ghost Dance. The LA scene is hella competitive, and it seems like Robin knows, as the track sounds incredible and takes inspiration from the best you can find from the electronic pop scene while adding so more edge to the sound. The track has some saturated sounds and effects that don’t sound overwhelming but rather very enticing and uplifting. The vocals are very energetic while maintaining that catchiness you search for in a pop track. Spooky and catchy, that’s the bet balance of the two you can find in a music tune.
ENERGY WHORES – “BANG di BANG”
BANG di BANG by Energy Whores takes you on a fierce, synth-infused journey that fuses alt-rock grit with electronic punch. The track opens with a futuristic-like vocal hook, sliding smoothly into driving beats and deep, cinematic layers that echo the vibe of Kasabian’s percussive energy while staying unique. It’s like the best of ’80s new wave clashing with modern electro-pop, a blend that feels both nostalgic and innovative.
The vocal line is hypnotic and slightly eerie, enhanced by synth textures that shift between atmospheric and high-energy, perfect for a soundtrack feel. Clever production choices, like well-placed breaks and effects, make the track catchy and immersive. This isn’t just a song; it’s a full experience, transporting you into a fast-paced, neon-lit nightscape.
Christian J Smith – “Electric Velocity”
Christian J Smith has brought us his fresh new single “Electric Velocity”, a full-throttle melodic dubstep adventure inspired by everything from gaming marathons to late-night city cruises. With a love for Skrillex-style vibes and the thrill of high-speed drives, Christian crafted this banger straight from his room, proving you don’t need a big studio to create something solid. The track packs some pretty unique sound design, from sophisticated growls, to ethereal sounds and nasty percussions, with a vibe that feels like you’re racing through neon-lit streets. As the first in a trilogy (yes, there’s an Electric Velocity 2 and 3 on the way!), it’s all about translating raw energy and emotion into music, and Christian definitely did the job amazingly well here. If you’re down for an intense, bass-filled ride, this track’s your jam.
Dallin – “Friday Night Fangs”
It’s time to bring the groove with Dallin’s latest track called “Friday Night Fangs”: a funky, NU-disco spin on vampire lore that’ll have you grinning. This tune opens with a quirky organ riff that Dallin dreamt up and gives the whole song this wild, supernatural vibe. It’s like stepping into a vampire party you didn’t know you needed. Mixing classical, jazz, and a touch of pop with some dark vibes, Dallin pokes fun at our obsession with immortality. Imagine Byronic vampires with a side of dark humor, set to beats that make you wanna dance! This track is definitely fresh, catchy, and hilarious, plus, Dallin’s nephew drew the artwork, which just adds to the charm (honestly we think that’s super cool). This is a phenomenal track with a unique twist on the undead with some serious groove, you guys can’t really miss it!

Drawing from inspirations like Tribe Called Quest, OutKast, and Beastie Boys, “Electro-ganic” brings that nostalgic nod to hip-hop’s golden days while staying innovative and fresh. This one’s a must-listen, blending that real, raw sound with something unique and phenomenal.
EBONY BUCKLE – “Hearts Get Started”
Ebony Buckle brings us her new album “Hearts Get Started”, and it’s a journey you don’t wanna miss. This album’s got heart and soul written all over it: a collection of songs crafted over the years, where each track tells its own story, but they all come together to map out her unique musical path. With vibes ranging from ambient pop to rock and folk, the album is a blend of dreamy melodies and powerful moments, seriously. You’ll kick things off with “Fall Behind”, a slow build that hits deep, and by the time you reach “Jupiter Rising”, you’re floating in her cinematic world. “Golden Sand” even brings in the nostalgia of her seaside childhood, while “I Think I Just Saved My Own Life” throws in some groovy indie vibes. Trust us; this album is a stunning listen that is worth every second.
CAVN – “MOSAIC”
CAVN’s debut EP is an extremely interesting project called “MOSAIC”, and it has just dropped! It’s a soul-baring ride through love, loss, and finding your worth. From start to finish, it’s raw and deeply honest, reflecting on themes we all know: the nostalgia of carefree days, the ache of heartbreak, and the quest to trust again. Each track goes into a different part of her journey, with poetic lyrics and immersive beats that pull you in in a very unique way. CAVN blends her roots in classical music with cinematic, electronic, and even orchestral vibes, crafting something truly spectacular.
