Today we are extremely excited to present you this incredible music project called Miles East.

For those who don’t know this phenomenal artist, Miles East is an indie musician known for his evocative blend of acoustic and pop/soft rock music. With a knack for crafting soulful, introspective melodies, Miles has captured our hearts straight away with his latest album “Between Lightning and Thunder”, which showcases his evolution as a compelling and relatable voice in modern music.

With Rolling Stone giving it a thumbs up for its “relentless writing and production,” and over 300,000 streams on his singles before the full release, it’s clear that Miles did a full strike with this project.

With the remaking of this song, Yona Marie gives voice to the original voiceless artist of this black spiritual anthem, also known as a slave song. It’s believed that Wade In The Water was not only used as a part of the journey Harriet Tubman made to the South to help free many of her people, but it was also a code for the slaves to literally wade in the water while fleeing, so that the slavers’ dogs couldn’t trace their scent. That’s how the song takes on an even deeper meaning, turning out to be a vessel for a profound message of resilience, rebellion and faith.

Wade In The Water immediately captivates listeners with a blend of soulful vocals and a musical arrangement filled with gospel undertones, groovy drums and gleeful synths. Grace & Moji’s latest single Monster is guaranteed to be one of the most genuine and open-hearted songs of our days. The husband-wife duo from Los Angeles started working on this track after a drunk argument, and the result is an indie pop song with a lucid self-awareness and an authentic view on personal growth and shadow work.

This track is a raw and genuine indie pop gem that delves deep into the complexities of relationships and healing. Grace & Moji have crafted a heartfelt and introspective song that resonates with anyone who has experienced the light and darkness within themselves and their relationships, but they produced such a sparkling melody that it makes Monster very easy to listen to, as if to show light-heartedness in the face of everyday drama, with the mellow quality of the song inviting contemplation.

This reminded me a bit of Gotye’s Somebody That I Used To Know, with the couple’s vulnerability and raw emotions on full display, quickly pulling listeners into the narrative through its lyrical relatability and musical accessibility.

Nolo Grace and Martin Wave, the artistic forces behind Grace & Moji, found themselves exploring not only the layers of their relationship but also their individual identities during the lockdown period following their swift marriage. This unconventional start to their union paved the way for a unique exploration of the unconscious dynamics within their relationship, resulting in a song that’s both sincere and unusual, honest and yet uplifting (as the two don’t always go together).

The guitar riffs, steady drums, swooshing synths and airy “doo-doo” softly sung by Grace make the upbeat tempo contrast with the song’s introspective theme, creating a balance that mirrors the complexities of human emotions. Meanwhile, the lines about all their trips to Bali, those meditations and self-explorations which haven’t healed away the wounds reveal their commitment to authenticity in exploring the shadow aspects of themselves and unapologetically normalising the duality within us all, which also serves as a reminder that personal evolution is not as easy as it seems and that acknowledging and confronting these aspects is a crucial part of personal growth.

Nolo Grace’s background, marked by a passion for music and a journey through various career paths, adds depth to her and the duo’s artistic expression, while Martin Wave’s impressive music production career and multi-instrumentalist talents bring a rich sonic landscape to their collaboration.

Grace & Moji‘s desire to explore and experiment is becoming their signature. Monster is an intimate exploration of self, love, and personal growth, and its genuine and nuanced lyrics, mellow musicality, and dynamic composition make it a standout in the indie pop landscape, while encouraging you to embrace all aspects of yourself and work to turn them into something better instead of romanticising what isn’t romantic at all.

This couple’s willingness to embrace their own inner monsters, as they literally do in their music video, reminds us all that we are beautifully complex beings and that accountability, acceptance and communication are fundamental when it comes to love. Grace & Moji’s full EP is coming out in November and we hope they’ll keep examining their identities and the dynamics of their relationship while exploring each other’s creativity, as the outcome is just great for us and them.

Madebit’s latest album An Alien Among Us really takes us on a sonorous journey and exploration of the relationship between inner and outer space. This is probably the most dynamic, eclectic album I’ve listened to this year, and Nashville-based singer and producer Madelyn Reyes, aka Madebit, truly is one of the greatest artists we’ve discovered so far.

The creative question that gave origin to this album is how to take the feelings of being an outsider and turn them into ways you can connect with other people. Blending pop, indie, electronic and world music, Madebit experimented with sonic as well as human identity. This album offers a sort of synesthetic experience in which we can see and touch the music we’re listening to as it travels through space and time the same way our soul does, acquiring different characters and new shades as it goes.

As if experimenting with herself in an attempt to figure out what fits her as an individual and where and how she fits among the others, Madebit played with multifaceted and avant-garde sounds and melodies, achieving an outcome that doesn’t give her a fixed identity but rather it defines her kaleidoscopic character.

The 12-track album opens with Space, a spacey melody of synths and dreamy vocals with a poetical indie flavour that sucks you in to take you on a trip of multi-coloured sounds and stories, where you’ll probably figure out how fluid yourself and the rest are, and that’s where you’ll find the connection button.

Madebit is indeed a master of musical tension between dreamy pop and darker hypnotic sounds. Sandy Beaches is like a galactic travel through a tunnel, with acid synths and a rhythmic refrain which makes it very hooky. Moon Dance has a sort of an electronically ritualistic vibe to it, while Bring It Out travels more towards the pop dimension, with an exotic flavour given by the percussions and high-pitched synths.

Intermission has an epic sound instead, like that of a medieval ballad, while the pitchy sounds and continuous hum that slides through the notes of An Ode To Those Who Lead But Do Not Follow are guaranteed to keep you enthralled. A Sound Is Born sums up the essence of the whole album, starting with glossy synths and ending with more of a cavernous sound.

Ultimately, An Alien Among Us examines a range of moods and emotions and is a perfect fusion between introspection and creative exploration of the outside world, successfully combining dynamism and cohesion and showcasing Madebit’s incredible talent.

The beat is captivating straight from the start, and the sonic intensity of Topsy Turvy leaves the listener empowered and unfettered at the end of the song. This is an anthem that promotes the idea of embracing chaos and letting go of all restraints and of that sense of identity created by society. Nicholas Dante invites the listener to enter this space where being your true self and living an electrifying existence made of spontaneity is the main rule.

The melody, indeed, unfolds with an unshackled quality, symbolizing the song’s overarching theme of breaking free from constraints, while the uplifting rhythm of the song appears to reproduce the emotional high that comes with embracing empowerment and the sense of newfound freedom.

The triumphant resonance of the music mirrors the song’s core message of emerging victorious in the journey towards self-liberation. I was instantly fascinated by the bewitching, velvet-voiced Colleen Rennison when I listened to her new single I Do. I could hear Christina Aguilera’s vocal prowess with a taste all of its own, in a single that makes the freshness of her talent stand out while taking us back in time with its retro-soul sounds.

Colleen is a Canadian actress, singer and songwriter from Vancouver, and it’s her city that she takes us through in the I Do music video. Riding on her bike, she tells the story of a new love, of all those feelings of astonishing excitement, and she perfectly depicts an image of the simpleness of love in its initial stage. Her voice is infused with sentiment and pure openness, while the jolly guitar and the rhythmic bassline supporting her vocals, which are the protagonists of this track.

She croons with the allure of a bygone era but with the explosive confidence and light-heartedness of our days. Her vocals seem to propel her bike, dancing through the air like a sweet summer breeze and pushing her forward until she reaches the ocean. Her performance is a masterclass in soulful serenading and her singing is a timeless embrace, a vintage melody of love. In every verse, her voice tells a story only the heart can understand and instantly connect to. This one is for the fence sitters who’re afraid to give it a try, whatever it might be that they want in this very moment. Turn your speakers on or grab your headphones and play Shots by Tasty ft. Loop Instinct, an empowering concoction of funk, hip-hop and indie pop.

Andrew Keeler (aka Tasty), from New Orleans, gave it a shot himself by recording this track in his home studio, and he certainly did the right thing. This is an infectious melody with a rich, pulsating rhythm made of different sonic layers complimented by a powerful performance and lyrics which engage the listener on a poetic, aural and emotional level.

“Whoa, take another shot now / You gon’ regret it if you don’t throw it down / Baby, just throw it down / Take another shot with me”, these are the words Tasty sings to his listeners, in a smart wordplay that hints at basketball shots, alcohol shots and personal attempts at something.

The dynamic, rolling bassline has an undeniable, unique groove that makes this song feel truly authentic, with a constant build-up to the chorus, the driving momentum where you can’t help shouting along to this catchy anthem.
