Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

Today we travelled a few miles to Cornwall, to find Marcus McCoan, electro-pop singer, songwriter and producer.

His first single in 2016, “Chemical”, sparked an interest in BBC Radio Cornwall and BBC Radio 1, which brought Marcus on stage at Glastonbury Festival 2016. And just a few weeks before opening Natalie Imbruglia’s tour in October, he released his last track, “Try Me”, which made me a fan of his genre.

I don’t listen to much pop or electro-pop, but “Try Me” felt really like an invitation for me to get a taste of another kind of music for once in a while, and it’s not an overstatement to say this has become one of my most played songs in the last few days. That’s because this edgy track has some RnB, sexy feels to it while maintaining the darkish tones of electro-pop. I just love it, it’s hard to describe it any other way.

Each sound is greatly articulated, put together and alternated or blended with the others. A throaty electric guitar starts the song and after a couple of notes Marcus’s voice blends in fluidly.

At some points, you might almost believe it’s acapella, as Marcus’s falsetto pierces straight through the air, without the guitar in the background, yet holding the pitch perfectly, and blending in again with the guitar a few seconds later.

They’re then joined by an electro-bass and drums, and the voiceless guitar solo accompanied by these other instruments makes this track even more freakingly beautiful.

The chorus isn’t the only pleasantly unforgettable hook in this track, as hooks are spread all throughout, both instrumental and lyrical, making this song addictive, but nicely. It never sticks in your mind in that kind of annoying way some songs do, and it’s always a renewed pleasure to listen to it.

The amalgamation of Marcus’s trebles and the lower tones of the bass and drums, contrasted in turn by the electric guitar, is just a great aural experience.

Space Discovery: Reue

Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

This time we travelled all the way to Austin, Tx. to find Reue (pronounced “Roi-uh”), an underground electronic music artist who collaborated with Colombian artist Synthemesc on “Always Late”, a track mixing techno with a bit of house and electronic music.

The percussive beat jumps straight into your ears at a pressing four-on-the-floor rhythm, reminiscent of the early 90s house sound. The start is very clubby, and different elements get gradually added to the bassline, while white noise sweeps up like a waft of wind on a stormy day, brushing against the walls of the beat and adding volume to the whole, and then sweeps down to come back later, more intense.

It rises and rises, until it leaves space to an ascending synth bass, with saw pads in the background bringing an ethereal flavour to the almost chiptune melody. It sounds like a race against time – maybe that’s why “Always Late” – with its up and downs, the expectant feeling it gives when it seems like it’s almost done, about to get out of the door, but it comes back again as it forgot something, a sound, or a melody to add before it leaves.

A slightly acid riser makes the melody feel ever more urgent, until the bass drops again.

Glossy risers and downers follow each other in this composition of climaxes, until a squeakier riser preannounces a drop mid-song, which arrives gently, reacquiring the initial rhythm, deep and steady, with the leading bass drum pumping.

The transitions are smooth and there are no harsh switches, which make this track very danceable, with its build-ups and drops rooted in the techno tradition.

Then the rhythm slightly accelerates, in a build-up towards the actual end this time, while another distorted riser leads the ascending path, to then disappear. The beat becomes syncopated, the riser turns into a downer and almost naturally ends with a reverb which makes this track hover in the air for a little bit more, still not ready to leave.

A hit for techno and electronic music lovers, “Always Late” is a delight for impatient legs which love to dance and curious ears which like to spot all layers of a sound and revel in them.

Space Discovery: Leon Flames

Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

Today we didn’t have to travel too far to meet our super talented Leon Flames, South-London born and raised hip hop artist, who just came out with his new single “Stalin’s Lapel”.

It’s with a warm, seducing beat that Leon introduces us to this lo-fi hip hop/boom bap track, where mellow kicks and drums accompanied by a saxophone give off chill vibes, while Leon spits bar after bar, the rhythm of his voice relentless. And yet, sounds and flow here are a perfect couple – the symphony is old-school, almost RnB jazzy, while the impeccable flow is undoubtedly hip hop, but never harsh.

Leon plays with his lyrics, uses internal rhymes, alliteration between consecutive words, chain verses, glissading from one to the other, and unravelling a social commentary on race, history, politics, and art. As a poetess myself, each bar made my hair stand on end, and I just couldn’t stop vibing to the rhythm of this track. Leon hits hard with his lines: “a new Renaissance in place of the decimal/Boris Johnson or Ivan the Terrible/same face, different mask/but none of them invincible”, just to mention one of the many cultural references, wrapped up in poetry and lyricism, that fill this song.

The poetical quality of this single is probably its main strength, with Leon’s intelligent use of metaphors, like “as I adjust the frame of my specs and the light refracts, all of my darkest thoughts feel inept”. He talks about elevation from “the altitude where his brain exists”, uniqueness in his intentions, as Stalin’s lapel, unique in its non-existence.

This song is the fruit of the most recent marriage between late 80s/early 90s West Coast hip hop and 2020s London rap music.

I see that collaboration with Marvin Gaye and Al Green, which Leon dreams about if he could travel back in time, in this refreshed old-school style track, drizzled with a new, wavy London spice full of poetics.

Congratulations on your new release!

What’s the story behind your latest release?

My new release ‘Stalin’s Lapel’ received its name, because the coats that Stalin wore never had any lapels on them, which would make Stalin’s lapel unique. I wanted to remind people that there are still rappers out there that care about intricate bars, cadence, flow and subject matter. I had first intended on having a hook on the song, but as I started writing, I just kept on going deeper down the rabbit hole and it ended up transforming into one long colossal verse.

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future include releasing a full length double album in 2023 titled ‘Kings Never Give Up, to follow up 2019’s ‘Realm Musik Lp’, and to create visuals to go with it, whilst performing at different venues and events.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

If I had a time machine, I would travel back to the 70’s when artists like Marvin Gaye and Al Green were taking the world by storm. I would take with me some beats from my upcoming project ‘Kings Never Give Up’, so that I could collaborate with them and make some futuristic songs from their perspective.

Space Discovery: Brooke Stilla

Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

Today’s article is going to be dedicated to an amazing pop artist called Brooke Stilla. She’s a singer originally from Australia and now based in Toronto, with a new fresh single called “Not Over Getting Over You”

Starting with a classic chord progression accompanied by a raspy female voice whose swollen heart seems to be reaching her throat, “Not Over Getting Over You” initially seems to be taking us on a journey of sorrow and longing for a lost love, like the Adele’s songs Brooke Stilla mentions in the first verse of her track. But we can tell this will be different as soon as she speeds up and the piano starts chasing her voice, in a fast dance of pain and vulnerability playing tag until it all slows down to give way to an upbeat, catchy composition of kick drums and bubbly piano notes, with Brooke’s twirling ad libs on the word “you”. This then whooshes into a steady beat on which her voice jumps filled with a new pacey rhythm and a new emotion: open-hearted sincerity about her most inner thoughts and realizations, while a “message sent” sound pops in the background. While she unburdens herself, light-hearted synthesizers join the party, in a perfectly contemporary pop melody you’ll find yourself humming to while doing the house chores.

Towards the end, the track slides once more into a ballad, with Brooke’s voice expanding while she sings about how she can’t believe it’s taken her so long to get over this relationship and then shyly steps into the background, confessing “you are the one that I still dream about”, “I have no doubt in my mind bout our future, but I see now”, while a vocoder choir joins her, ”just cause we’re over don’t mean that I’m over you”, swiftly followed by a recorded voice message of her expressing her pain and disbelief, stuttering while her singing voice takes over and breaks into a smooth riff on “we’re getting oooolder”. Brooke’s voice is versatile, dynamic, seems to move the tempo forward and to slow it down, embracing each arrangement graciously.

Brooke Stilla is an Australian pop singer-songwriter who made her debut on The X Factor Australia and “Not Over Getting Over You” is her latest release.

This song is an outspoken statement which purely means to tell the story of a woman who can’t get over a guy she was with a decade ago and still can’t explain how herself. It’s made for both a solo listening in your room, thinking back to that one love you never really let go, or for a collective singing with friends on a night in, when you don’t feel afraid to shout out your most hidden feelings and maybe have a lil’ dance to it.

The last part of this track is a horse galloping towards the end of the racecourse in a glorious fashion and immediately halting at the finish line, in a snappy ending that matches the whole song flawlessly.

We had a great chat with Brooke, and below you can dive a bit more into her new single and future plans.

Hi Guys, thank you so much for interviewing me and allowing me to share my story with your
Space travellers 🙂

What’s the story behind your latest release?

‘not over getting over you’ was born on the 31st of October 2020 after listening to ‘Someone
Like You’ by Adele. 10 years after the release of the Adele song, I realised that the lyrics hit
me in a very different way, now as an adult in my mid 20’s. I never really got closure from my
ex-boyfriend and after seeing that he had proposed to his now wife, it left me with confused
emotions and feelings that I didn’t even know I still had. So then I wrote ‘not over getting
over you’ about the feeling of not getting over someone even though you thought you were.
The older I get I also have realised that every relationship we encounter teaches us
something and whether it was a good or bad relationship you will grow from it regardless. I’m
glad I listened to ‘Someone Like You’ that night because it sparked something and honestly
allowed me to feel what I was feeling and heal me.

What are your plans for the future?

I actually did a meditation/visualisation this morning called ‘Your Future Self’ so coincidental.
Future plans are to definitely release more music, get a really great team to work on my
projects with, travel more and keep creating memories to songwrite about and experiencing
life to the fullest. I have always visualised being in LA. So that’s definitely a plan I have for
the future too.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of
music would you bring with you in the past?

I love this question!!!!! I think I would travel back to the 60’s and bring Disco and Funk music
into the timeline a little earlier!!! I absolutely love Disco and Funk, the groove just makes you
feel good and not to mention the best instrument of them all…. THE BASS!

Space Discovery: Erik Evy

Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

Take a seat, grab a glass of wine, put your headphones or speakers on and enjoy. Today’s discovery is the new EP by ERIK EVY, a promising Chicago hip-hop artist. “Matinee” is a lo-fi/spoken poetry set of four songs meant to be listened to in a quiet space rather than at parties. The title of this EP, indeed, refers to the afternoon show before primetime, and it feels like it in its sounds too. “Matinee” is like reading someone’s diary or having someone whisper their inner thoughts in your ear with music in the background, yet this is not to say production here is irrelevant. Evy, in fact, plays with sounds in a quite intelligent way.

He tells us his most private story in what he calls his “writing exercise”, an EP that functions as a bridge between his old sounds and the new ones he wants to experiment with in the future; his spoken word singing style reminds us of Mac Miller with his confessional lyrics and calm, conversational tone, at times contrasted by a Kanye’s higher voice pitch and sped-up rhythm.

The classic lo-fi irregular rhythm is made even more unique by Evy’s spoken word, where the voice acquires its own rhythm, creating a pleasantly dissonant sound.

The first track, “Sunday Morning”, is a composition of thuddy kicks and snares with piano chords, and each song seems to finish with the initial sounds of the next one, making the transitions smooth and the connection between these songs as clear as day. Besides, each track seems to add a sound element that was absent in the previous one.

The second track “Intrinsic”, for instance, still carries the kick and snares and piano chords of the first one, but we can hear vocal samples in the beginning and a choir here and there, with synthesized voices towards the end.

“Bridges” then opens with an auto-tuned voice, as if it was a continuous of “Intrinsic”, with distorted voices hovering in the background throughout the song, while the tempo seems to speed up track by track too.

Finally, “Promises” starts with what sounds like organ music accompanied by an electronic voice, followed by Evy’s spoken word and culminating halfway in a pitch bending section where Evy’s tone switches too, with a peak and sped-up rhythm in his voice that makes it sound like one of Kanye’s sudden outbursts, to then go calm again and repeat the pattern towards the end, almost unpredictably.

What makes this EP stand out is its relatability. Erik Evy, indeed, doesn’t talk money or brag about a lavish lifestyle, but he says out loud what many think about our current obsession with social media, technology and other millennial issues. His lyrics are straight-forward and open-hearted, as in “Sunday Morning”, where he goes “I feel the need to post on socials”, or “TikTok tells me go outside and romanticise my life”, or one of our favourite lines: “to be able to upload a conscience to have a conversation with anyone in history/ would the best teachers live forever or would their conscience become outdated?”.

Overall, this EP is Erik Evy’s uploaded conscience, and we’re grateful for him sharing it with us in a build-up of sounds which culminate in a final track with church-like melodies and passionate vocals, in a perfect prelude to his primetime show, which we excitedly look forward to.

My name is Erik Evy, I am a hip hop artist from Chicago, IL in the United States. I dont want to box myself in but I pride myself in illustrating life. I want to be genuine and trusting with my music.

Each of us goes through this life of a human experience, and it is all about creating music that a wide variety of people can identify with.

What’s the story behind your latest release?

This latest EP, “Matinee” is a minimalist production with drums and pianos, basically some storytelling to set the stage and establish context from my other project in 2023. I describe transitioning into becoming an adult, some of my takes on the world right now, and the transition of truly believing in my music. Identity of self.

It’s titled “Matinee” because it serves as the afternoon show before the primetime event.

What are your plans for the future?

Right now it’s about creating as good of music as possible. Learning how to sing, mix, market myself, and network with other artists and people in my city! The goal is to make this my full time income where I can structure my full day around music.

I see myself staying an independent artist, but for more immediate plans. 2023 will have 1 maybe 2 big projects, I will release remixes and work with some of my inspirations in music!

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

I would travel to the future! A few hundred years in the future. As the world becomes more globalized it will be wonderful to see how cultures will merge.

Space Discovery: RIP Youth

Welcome to a new exciting Space Discovery!

Today we are going to introduce you to a great new artist called RIP Youth. It is such a pleasure for us to feature this kind of music during August as RIP Youth’s music perfectly matches the sunny days we are enjoying also in the UK, unexpectedly I will add.

RIP Youth was created by the eclectic mind of singer-songwriter and producer James Maas. He also comes from an incredibly sunny place which is Australia, but he’s now based in Los Angeles producing and writing his own tunes.

His last tune is a remix for his song It’s a Vibe. The remix was done by the globally known DJ/producer R3hab, transforming the original tune into an EDM-infused tune, which you would not absolutely miss.

When we first listen to this remix we thought, that’s the perfect song to listen to while doing a work-out, those High-Intensity ones that Pamela Reif proposes on Youtube, the ones that you wish you didn’t start, but when you listen to this song starting in the background you would be like “You know what? I can freaking do it”. So thank you R3hab and RIP Youth for giving us the strength to finish these impossible cardio workouts.

Indeed this tune was played by Peloton Instructor Cody Rigsby and Peloton’s DJ John Michael’s ‘Pride Live DJ Ride’ at Peloton New York Studios.

This was during the Pride Month 2022 that happened this June, and we could think of a better tune to be played during such occasion.

R3hab kept the main positive vibes and performance made by RIP Youth in the original one, but added some electronic steroids to it, of course some healthy ones. The sound design was incredibly well curated bringing a hard yet moving bass synth in the middle of the action, all the FX and ear candies perfectly match with RIP Youth vocals, culminating in a drop that radiates energy everywhere.

Now let’s pass the mic to RIP Youth, which is also going to tell us about the very cool story of how this song came to life. A little spoiler, let’s thank Charli XCX for supporting RIP Youth.

RIP Youth was my brainchild and answer to being an active producer/writer that had seen how streaming would allow me to create my own hub of music and an answer to all the songs that I was pitching out to other artists that wouldn’t see the light of day. It’s evolved to me being the main feature and vocal artist now but I love the attention anyway so we’re cool.

What’s the story behind your latest release?

I recently shot for Playboy and was flown down to Art Basel to the launch party in Miami, Charli xcx was dj’ing but no one was dancing except this one person so I went up to her, started dancing and hit it off. We exchanged numbers and caught up back in LA. By then she’d listened to some of RIPYouth’s music. I called her to see if Peloton would want to collab on a video. She said she had an idea for something bigger. She wanted an exclusive Remix for the peloton members for Pride! I’d worked with R3HAB before. It turns out she had been contacted by him to find something to work on a few months back so the timing was perfect. I got together with DJ John Michael who does the live rides and music programming to discuss what the rooms would need to feel dynamic and reach the peaks and valleys of a workout before we sent our notes off to R3HAb who absolutely understood right away what this would need to be, and subsequently knocked it out of the park. Vibes all around.

What are your plans for the future?

Writing a lot! And collaborating. I’ve almost finished my EP that I’m really excited to get out there and create a live show too.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

The 80’s !! For too many reasons to list. Can we also bring back the hair and clothing?

Space Discovery: Emmrose

Welcome to a new Space Discovery,

Today we’re going to introduce you to Emmrose, singer-songwriter based in New York City. Earlier in March, she released a tune called “Brave New World“. The name might sound familiar and indeed takes inspiration from Aldous Huxley’s novel with the same name, released in 1932.

The lyrics on this tune are politically charged, differently from the other tunes released by Emmrose previously. There’s so much misinformation out there, especially on the web, that it is very easy to feel overwhelmed by fake news and ignorance. New conspiracy theories are rising everywhere and your best friend might believe that half of the human population is instead made of reptilians. C’mon, we all have a friend, or at least know someone, who’s all about this stuff, and that’s why we feel this tune is so relevant, especially for what it’s happening in the world right now.

Apart from the theme presented by the lyrics, “Brave New World” is an extremely catchy Indie Pop tune, layered with some melancholia that surfaces from the background thanks to Emmrose’s distant vocals and ethereal synths. The piano progression merges perfectly with the acoustic guitar arpeggio and the drum, while being minimal throughout the song, it adds an epic tone to the arrangement, especially in the verse. Emmrose’s vocal performance perfectly reflects the lyrics’ intention, with the right amount of dark vibes and hope to balance the tune.

Congratulations on your new release “Brave New World”! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!

Hello! I’m Emmrose, an 18 year old singer songwriter who lives in nyc! I was born and raised in Manhattan, and now I go to college here! I’ve been writing music since I was 13, and it’s been my passion ever since then. Writing music is the most important thing in my life, and it feels so amazing that I can share it with the world.

What’s the story behind your latest release?

My single Brave New World was inspired by dystopian fiction novels, such as 1984 and other works by George Orwell and the novel Brave New World that I titled my song after. My song was written before the Russian attack of Ukraine, but I think it has a very apt message in todays world.

What are your plans for the future?

I’m studying psychology and literature in college, and those are two areas of study that I’m very passionate about! The future is pretty uncertain for me, I just have so many interests! Music is what I do outside of school, but I would love to pursue it as a career.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

Ahh! I’m such a history nerd, I honestly don’t think I could pick just one. I’d love to travel to the late Victorian era, I just love the literature and the music from then- and of course the fashion! I’d love to also travel to Ancient Greece during the classical age, I’m really interested in Greek culture from that time, especially their mythology. I don’t think i’d want to reveal myself as a time traveler, though maybe H G Wells would get a kick out of it.

Space Discovery: Alexiane

Welcome to another Space Discovery! Once again, we came across another incredible artist, and we are glad to feature this project today here on SpaceSour.

We talking about ALEXIANE, a singer and songwriter based in Canada, Montreal.

Alexiane has gained millions of streams on Spotify on many of her tracks: her electronic-cinematic pop style has captured the heart of the fans, with her astonishing voice and her creative musical arrangements.

“You Say You Love Me” is the release we want you to hear today, released a few months ago, and is part of her brand new album including 19 tracks. You can listen to the album below:

The song starts with a piano and a guitar, playing some melancholic chords, and Alexiane singing along with a compelling and vibrant vocal tone which reminded us of the style of Dua Lipa and Lana Del Rey mixed together. The vocal lines are incredibly well written, we can feel the emotional notes coming from the bottom of her heart: this is what gives the tune a unique character making it very remarkable.

The song goes ahead on the verse with a rhythmic guitar strumming and some ambient pads, with the vocals leading the song in an emotional manner. After the verse, the drums come into the game during the chorus with an upbeat rhythm and some detailed percussions that add groove to the whole thing.

This is a high-quality pop production that caught our ears, but we can assure you that the rest of the album will guide you for sure to a very good time while listening: Let’s enjoy it while we wait for her next releases!

Congratulations on your new single “You Say You Love Me”! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!

Hey! Thanks! I’m Alexiane, a Canadian, Senegalese and french singer-songwriter and producer currently based in Montreal. Creating melodies is my passion. I would qualify my sound as an alternative cinematic dark pop. I’ve just released my very first album « Into the sun » this year! It’s out there <3!

What’s the story behind your latest release?

« You say you love me » was created out of a desire for love. A desire to finally love and accept myself the way that I am and a desire to be loved by the love of my life and by others more generally — despite my heavy suitcases (as portrayed in the music video) filled with wounds, insecurities, doubts, fears and pressure.

Love has so many facets; it is so complex. It’s my eternal puzzle. I think It’s the most beautiful thing when you feel it and the most difficult thing when you don’t. I encourage everyone to keep fighting to discover all the different facets of love life has to offer us. It may sound generic but I truly believe it.

The first seeds of « You say you love me » were planted on a beautiful afternoon at my aunt’s house in Los Angeles with my best friend Igor Kempeneers. Just him and I and a piano.

What are your plans for the future?

More music, more collaborations and a second album in space 😉 (I’m currently recording a lot in the studio for my second album)! Also, I’ll be having a show in Dakar on July 30th 2022 and will join the Salif Keita USA tour in August and September 2022.
More of helping the world too. It’s really important for me to try to help reduce people’s suffering in any way I can and give them a certain feeling of empowerment through my music.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

I would definitely travel to the 80s to try to attend an 80s Madonna show — and I would bring no music from now from the past but I would definitely bring my mic along haha😝

Welcome back to another Space Discovery!

Get ready Space Traveller, today you’ll be introduced to an exciting new artist from the UK called Bonze. He just released a new song called Self, together with a dystopian music video you absolutely need to watch.

Bonze, reminds a lot of the sound design of artists like Nine Inch Nails, and Chemical Brothers. Although the instrumentation has an undeniable dark theme, this is mixed with a more soothing voice and oriental-ish lead in the chorus which makes the track extremely catchy, while keeping its mystery and melancholic vibes.

It is really easy to feel sympathetic with the lyrics and song’s theme. Today’s life makes us all feel disconnected from each other and makes us crave instant gratification.

Self is a song with a pretty deep meaning, describing a person searching for his true self and personal realization. The lyrics may mimic a personal dialogue with your own self, trying to avoid self-victimhood. As Bonze says: “Don’t Blame it on your Mother … You’re your own Salvation”.

Bonze is now touring with the band Dutch Criminal Records, and you can catch him tomorrow in London, as well as other UK cities in the next few days. Check out here for tickets.

Congratulations on your new release “Self”! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!

Hi I’m a solo vocalist and artist called ‘Bonze’ and I mainly write / produce alt-pop. I’m currently writing my debut album ‘Self’ with a gig in 2 days to support my recent Single, also called ‘Self’.

What’s the story behind your latest release?

‘Self’ is the title-Single from my debut album. The reason for choosing this as the lead Single is because it sets the scene for the album narratively, as well as sonically. The song has a duality, it’s not only an autobiographical monologue/statement to myself about handling my own issues, but it’s also a point to the listener about relying on yourSELF instead of relying on the instant-gratification nature of western society to solve inner psychological pain.

What are your plans for the future?

Write the album, release about 6-9 Singles in prep for the album and hopefully then tour / write the second album. I would like to create my own ‘world’ that has its own vibe that people can connect with. I’d like to get as many listeners as possible but also hold my integrity whilst doing so; I live for the process of writing and performing and simply hope to be able to continue doing that to the best of my ability with a substantial following.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

I would go back to the Tudor-era and show Henry the 8th what Blue Monday by New Order sounds like. He’d probably think I’m a witch and have me killed but it’d be worth it to see the horror on his face when those synths come in during the intro.

Space Discovery: John Long

Welcome back to another Space Discovery!

Today we’re going to meet with an incredibly talented singer from Kansas City, United States. We’re really excited to introduce you to the singer-songwriter and producer John Long. He just released his second single of 2022 in this busy period and it is called “Only Limit Is You”.

This track merges different genres and styles in a unique and solid way. While being a pop tune, the sound design borrows from different genres including pop-rock, Synth-wave and EDM. A track produced and thought in very finely detail, full of ear-candies that make the song incredibly catchy and still new after every listen. The theme of the song is filled with hope and faith which resembles John Long’s ideals and religious beliefs.

An uplifting chorus with lyrics and melody that get easily stuck in your head. You gonna whistle this track without even noticing and singing by yourself “I believe in you, you believe it too” while walking around your house or while going to work. An incredibly fresh track that is gonna accompany us all year long, especially in Summer.

Congratulations on your new release! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!

Hello! My name is John Long. I am a US-based singer songwriter and producer working as a full time musician in various fields of the industry.

What’s the story behind your latest release?

Only Limit Is You was written with a friend of mine based in Saudi Arabia. It was written to build confidence in the heart of the listener. The purpose behind the song is to encourage people to not limit their own potential and to become the person they envision they are.

What are your plans for the future?

After six years of professional work with many other artists in the music industry, I have set out to make my own mark in the world of culture and music. I started releasing music in late 2021 and have many plans to continue that trend further. I have a full length project set to release in the Spring of 2022.

If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?

What a question! I love the era we are in now. I believe there is a reason each of us were born when we were born and we all have a purpose to fulfill while we are here but if I had to choose a different era, I would say the 50’s. Big band is absolutely amazing. I would love to have blended the big band sound of the 50’s with the modern synth-pop (maybe future pop) of today. Having the clean and full low end of modern music with the brashness and intensity of a 50’s big band would be so amazing. Not to mention the vocalists from that time.. how they would absolutely slay some great music today.
