Here we go with another incredible Space Discovery!


We traveled to Germany this time, and we found the amazing artist Sofia Lainovic with her tune “Twisted Reality”, and let us tell you, this one is an absolute mood. If you’re into raw, soulful music with a gritty edge, you’re definitely gonna vibe with this one! Sofia’s got a style that blends indie pop with ’70s rock, jazz, and even some blues: think of Amy Winehouse’s smoky vocals meeting Fleetwood Mac’s storytelling, and you’re in the ballpark!

The song kicks off with a distorted, bluesy guitar that immediately sets the tone, gritty and intense. There’s this haunting vibe that creeps in, especially when Sofia’s vocals hit: she’s got this raspy, soulful voice that just pulls you in. As the track unfolds, it feels like you’re diving into her mind, where insecurity and self-doubt are battling it out. The whole track is about how comparing yourself to others messes with your head, twisting your perception of reality. Relatable, right?

Hello Space Travellers,

Today we are extremely excited to present you this incredible music project called Miles East. 

For those who don’t know this phenomenal artist, Miles East is an indie musician known for his evocative blend of acoustic and pop/soft rock music. With a knack for crafting soulful, introspective melodies, Miles has captured our hearts straight away with his latest album “Between Lightning and Thunder”, which showcases his evolution as a compelling and relatable voice in modern music.

With Rolling Stone giving it a thumbs up for its “relentless writing and production,” and over 300,000 streams on his singles before the full release, it’s clear that Miles did a full strike with this project. 

Let’s talk about the album now: a masterpiece that opens with “Better than here”, an inviting track that mixes acoustic warmth with a touch of melancholic vibes. It’s the perfect soundtrack for those long, reflective drives. You can feel the Beck influence here, a bit like being wrapped in a cozy blanket on a rainy day.

Next up is “All hands on deck”, a song that’s all about capturing fleeting moments. The rhythm of the drums adds a raw edge, blending beautifully with East’s soothing vocals. It’s the kind of tune that sticks with you, long after the music stops!

We are now diving into the middle of the album, with “Lucky to be here tonight”, where uplifting melodies will let us cheer up the great moments of life and let us appreciate the little things: it’s like a slow dance in the moonlight with the stars dancing around us! There’s an ethereal quality to the tune that makes you want to hit repeat and just float away in its dreaminess. A great switch-up in mood just at the right time, making this album extremely smooth and easy to follow up!

 

The album keeps going with its dreamy vibes and brings a mix of emotions that soothe our thoughts with Miles’s incredible voice and his appalling talent to craft music like this.

As you near the end, “Song of Hope” offers a calm, almost meditative respite. It’s like the musical equivalent of sitting by the ocean at sunset – peaceful, reflective, and utterly captivating!

Welcome to our new Space Discovery!

Today we fly to Berlin on the notes of a magnetic track sitting at the top of the indietronica genre. Someone is a vibrant musical journey that seamlessly blends the nostalgic allure of 80’s synth-pop with the edgy elements of alternative rock. The Bromsen duo, made up by Richard and Karlo Bromsen, deliver a track that is both sonically rich and emotionally inspiring.

Evening Space-Tini: Best Chill Songs of the Month – Vol. 3

It’s time for some chill with Evening Space-tini!

That’s the last day of Summer. However, we luckily have this selection of incredible artists to cheer us up. 

These indie rock and indie folk tunes are perfect for this time of the year. Autumn is starting, and everyone is back to work, anyway, this music still makes us dream, and also daydream.

Just imagining ourselves without responsibilities for a bit longer, all these songs definitely did a great job of not making us think about the hustle and bustle of being a Londoner.  We are sure that will chill you up as well.

FRAN LUSTY – “Flight Of Your Mind”

Our first artist from today is called Fran Lusty, and she’s a singer-songwriter from London, UK. She just released an incredibly catchy tune called “Flight Of your Mind”, an indie-folk you absolutely shouldn’t miss. 

That’s her fourth single in 2022 and she definitely created a consistent sound during this here, accompanied by some conceptual artworks that make her music project even more consistent. This new single has a very solid sound foundation thanks to its chord progression and acoustic guitar sound.

The electric guitar gives that dreamy vibe adding some shoegaze-inspired sounds that give a lot of depth to the song. All of these are topped by Fran’s melancholic performance and melody. For the theme of this song, Fran was inspired by Virginia Woolf’s diaries and how she used to fly away from the real world into her mind.

The song reflects on the husband’s perspective of this peculiar situation, and the disconnection she might feel from the real world.  We found ourselves a bit reflected in this story, we lack Virginia’s talent but we are definitely some avid daydreamers.

T.I.G.Y. – “Animal”

T.I.G.Y. is an oustanding duo based in Dorking, UK, with an indie pop catalogue of over 10 tracks and one EP, these guys bring to the public a unique style merging beautiful vocal melodies with minimal musical arrangements.

Their latest release “Animal” is a cover of the band Miike Snow, completely reworked and remastered to a whole new level, and we can say they absolutely nailed it.

The style of the cover has soft touch for the first part of the song, featuring a dreamy piano and some impressive brasses (apparently provided by the incredibly skilled Jamie Sefton), while having a more energic and brave character during the second part.

The combination of the instruments used give the tune an acoustic sound, blending perfectly with the angelic vocals and giving the listener the opportunity to focus on the paceful and gentle melodies the will slowly inebriate our mind. 

This was definitely an incredible take from this duo, they also have some upcoming live events across the UK, make sure you check out their dates on Spotify!

POLYDRIVE – “Have To Make This Call”

This duo needs no introduction, after being with us in some previous articles, we are glad to have them here once again with their latest release “Have To Make This Call”.

What can we say, this tune literally captured our heart with its incredible nostalgic vibe and the refined sound design of electronic elements mixed to acoustic and electric guitars.

The song is a crescendo of emotions, built with an incredible dynamic full of stunning transients and powerful energy. This is definitely a strong characteristic of this band, able to add magic to whatever they play.

The song starts with a chilled verse, played by an acoustic guitar and the vocals. It slowly brings in other elements and fxs in a perfect manner, releasing most of its energy during the choruses and bringing your mind on a rollercoaster of feelings. 

We can admit that we can’t get enough of it, that’s why we’re going to press play once again.

YONAH – “Bad Dreams”

Extremely excited to introduce this incredible talent based in New York, US, ready to unleash wonderful feelings with his sound: we want to give a warm welcome to YONAH.

Just 19 years old, this young lad is a singer/songwriter and producer that seems to know what he’s doing, with a total of 5 productions released this year.

His latest tune called “Bad Dreams” is an Indie Pop production with a sophisticated sound design, featuring mellow guitars and incredibly captivating vocals that give the tune a mysterious feeling and a sense of “I want to discover more of it”.

The song has a misty mood, and we loved it: it will literally let you dream during the listening, and as the title says, it was a very bad dream.. However, if bad dreams were all like this, then I think we’d like to have them all the time.

LAURA LANG – “Black Sedan”

Talking about young talents, we are thrilled to present LAURA LANG, a marvelous singer and songwriter from Tennessee, US. 

Her angelic voice is incredibly remarkable, just 17 years old we wonder how she can be this good, lyrically and melodically speaking, Laura proves her skills with her latest release “Black Sedan”.

The song starts with an astonishing guitar arpeggio: it hooked us from the first moment with its beautiful melody, accompanied by a very characteristic bunch of effects, and followed by the soft vocal lines of Laura during the verse.

The tune features an amazing groove composed of rich and bold acoustic drums in a full indie rock style, releasing all of its energy in the second half of the song along with electric rock guitar power chords and powerful vocal melodies.

This artist is incredibly good at bringing nostalgic vibes and will definitely make you craving for more, we can assure you.

KAELEY JADE – “Beneath The Lies”

The next artist we present to you comes directly from Edmonton, Canada. She’s a singer-songwriter called Kaeley Jade and her last single is called “Beneath The Lies”. That’s an acoustic pop tune with an extremely catchy melody and arrangement, especially the main lead present in the chorus, it’s easy to get stuck in your mind. 

That’s the fourth single out of her upcoming album Turpentine which will be out just in a couple of days, and we are very excited about this. Beneath the Lies bring to life the poppiest side of Kaeley Jade, but always deals with themes that are nothing but superficial. 

After encountering one of her ex-partners, Kaeley faces some of the human most notorious constructions, the so-called human masks, the false identity that keeps some of us alive by not facing certain issues of their lives, pretending everything’s okay.

This song and its incredible catchiness reminded us of early works from Taylor Swift and Maggie Rogers, and we wish the best for Kaeley Jade’s upcoming album, make sure not to miss it out.

ZOE GUIGUENO – “Queen Of My Domain”

“Queen Of My Own Domain” is the latest single from Singer-Songwriter Zoe Guigneno, a cozy indie tune, perfect for the end of summer. 

Zoe Guigneno, is currently based in Canada, Vancouver Island, but she used to live in New York for a long time and had a lot of music experiences playing the bass in different bands. Through her lyricism and songwriting is possible to capture her musical talent and ability to convey her emotions through melody. 

The song’s arrangement plays a lot around the bassline, very groovy and present which makes it a peculiarity if compared to other indie rock/indie pop tunes. The organ and guitar licks add some dreamy layers to the production but always leave enough space for Zoe to express herself fully. 

Through the lyrics we can see that Zoe explores her independence, now feeling more control over her life, expressed in an uplifting and very positive way. A simple, warm yet inspiring tune, you should absolutely add to your playlist.

LAURYN MARIE – “Happy Songs”

Directly from San Francisco, here we have Lauryn Marie with her new song Happy Songs. That’s the first tune she released in 2022, bringing some alt-pop vibes to the end of this summer, with a melancholic theme and a very catchy melody. 

Lauryn was able to create a song that sounds very pop while still keeping her singer-songwriter style. The electric guitars here also add some vibes that reminded us of Olivia Rodigo and Avril Lavigne, which we really dig. 

The main theme of this song turns around the feeling we might have after a relationship is finished. Everything changed, and also our respective things during the relationship had a different and deeper meaning.

Lauryn in this song is indeed reflecting on the role of all the songs she used to listen to, and they all sound different in the aftermath of her breakup. A situation that many of us can relate to, and that Lauryn was able to transpose into music in a flawless way.

HERALD K – “Wandering Aengus”

Here we have the final artist of today’s list. Last but not least we present you Herald K, a singer-songwriter from Vienna, Austria. Even though we didn’t plan for this to be the last review of the day, this song sounds like the perfect closure for today’s selection, thanks to his extremely chill vibes and hypnotic pedal steel guitar. 

The tune we are going to close today is called Wandering Aengus and this is Herald K’s interpretation and transposition of William Butler Yeats’s poem.

This extremely calming tune is a hidden gem of modern folk. It is pure pleasure to dive into this song, especially at the end of a very busy day, and be caressed by the vocal melody, a soothing line that accompanies you into a dreamy state. The very well-curated sound design gives the right space to every instrument making the double bass, vocals and acoustic guitar shine. The perfect tune to end the day.

We are now over the middle of August, but that doesn’t mean we are going to worry about the end of summer. More like the opposite, we are indeed enjoying these days more than ever, and this collection of tunes we are presenting to you today is going to cheer you up as well. 

These are the best chill tunes to enjoy at the end of August, imagine now being along the shore, looking at the dusk coming and these tunes in the background. Enjoy the moment, there’s no need to rush, these amazing artists are going to accompany you through the end of the day, so let’s relax and enjoy the ride.

Fox Evades – “Someday”

The next artist we are going to introduce you to is from Lincolnshire, United Kingdom. She goes under the moniker of Fox Evades and her last dreamy release is called “Nothing But Our Dreams”.

Here we are presenting you the tune “Someday” which really got stuck in our head. This tune has some shoegaze vibes we really dig. It reminded us of some tunes out of Turnover’s album “Peripheral Vision”, which is one of our favorite modern shoegaze releases to date. So it didn’t surprise us that this tune, and overall album soundscape and aesthetic, seemed really our jam.

Jordan Mae, the person behind this dreamy music project, is also the only songwriter and producer behind it. This shows her incredible production talent, as this release sounds way better than a production recorded in a bedroom.

Fox Evades is able to take classic shoegaze vibes and put a modern twist on them, creating a mystic vibe that sounds completely new and different from other latest productions.

EMMROSE – “The Feeling’s Mutual”

EMMROSE is back with another anthemic pop tune called “The Feeling’s Mutual”. We already had the pleasure of including EMMROSE in one of our Best of the Month articles and got to talk with her in a very nice interview which you can find here.  

This time EMMROSE’s production sounds bigger than ever. Compared to her other releases this track has definitely more energy and a rock approach we definitely dig. You can feel from the performance what EMMROSE is feeling, this has been a very personal tune to write, and the song represents a cathartic moment for the singer-songwriter to express all her energy and thoughts through a robust vocal performance. 

To categorize this song as an Indie Pop tune might not be enough, as the arrangement indeed takes many elements from other genres like electro-pop and indie music and merges them together with a rock core. 

The frustration EMMROSE’s felt from the toxic friendship she writes about is clearly evident, and makes it easy for the listener to empathize with her emotion. We’ve been through this as well, and this track has been extremely uplifting for us.

ONBAR – “GOOD”

Let’s start the evening in full style with the help of ONBAR, an amazing artist from San Jose, CA, and let’s kick off our speakers with his crazy groove and exclusive vibes.

His latest release “GOOD” (in collaboration with 2 of his friends) is for sure the best way to begin this article, as the title of this song: a minimal but incredibly special tune that features stunning chords progression, with an extremely neat production and a brilliant musical arrangement.

This song will bring you up to a cloud from the very first seconds with its exquisite sounds and upbeat rhythm, giving you an instantly good mood and a perception of life completely different from what you used to know. A song that tells a story, lyrically and musically, and we literally couldn’t have enough of it even after loop modes for hours!

ONBAR has been releasing music since 2020, and we recommend to have a listen also to his previous release, you won’t get disappointed.

Obviously curious about what this artist reserves us for the future, but in the meanwhile, let’s have a GOOD time with this sick release.

NIGHTLY GATHERINGS – “Accepted”

For those who already heard this artist, we know that writing about his music would literally diminish it, but we also want to introduce this phenomenal artist to all the ones who never heard his piece of art before. NIGHTLY GATHERINGS, (also appearing on SpaceSour here),

is probably one of the artists that inspired us to build up this Evening-Space Tini format thanks to his incredible sound, and here he comes with his brand new EP “Accepted” released less than a month ago.

The EP contains 4 tracks: a (sadly)short journey to heaven where enchanting and compelling melodies will give us peace of mind, relax our body, and bring us to the immersive discovery of the beauties of these tunes, featuring futuristic and organic sounds and combined to Connor vocals and complex glitches.

Our favorite? Difficult to say as we loved all the EP, but if we have to suggest one for the first-time listeners, we would for sure recommend “Always” as the first track: an easy start to get to know this artist and get your mind ready to fully comprehend his sound of the rest of the EP.

LILOE RIX – “Let Go”

LILOE RIX, outstanding talent from Amsterdam, Netherlands, is a musician, singer/songwriter that knows how to delight our ears with her incredible voice and her creative musical riffs.

One of her latest releases just got stuck in our mind and definitely wanted us to have it as a must during our relaxing evening: “Let Go” is definitely what we need to enjoy the sunset with a great vibe. The song has some remarkable bass lines with a deep and crunchy sound, incredibly pleasant to listen to! The bass combined with the drums gives the track a solid groove, where rhythmic and melodic guitar fills the ambient with beautiful riffs.

Liloe vocals are clean, tenacious, and confident, with a solid decisive timbre during the verses and a soft one during the choruses. The choirs are incredibly well produced and give the track wideness and excitement, for sure one of the strongest skills of this artist!

We loved the bridge in the song, with a wonderful melodic progression, we couldn’t miss this track in this article!

Rich Jacques – “Can You See It”

The next artist comes directly from Los Angeles, and his latest release really makes us find some inner peace. We are talking about Rich Jacques, who just put out an amazing EP called “Everything Must Change”.

The track we wanted to present to you today from the EP is Can you See it. That’s the track with the most indie folk vibe from the EP, and definitely a great introduction to Rich Jacques sound. Rich’s singing style on this one is very mild and soothing accompanied by a piano part that supports the guitar chord progression. 

The message behind the track is simple, concise yet very modern. In line with the mood of the song that makes us imagine ourselves on our front porch or backyard just enjoying the horizon and nothing else. The guitar lo-fi sound and bass sound give that modern twist that makes the song stand out from the rest of the chill folk tunes you might listen around.

CHARLIE WEATHERSBY – “Iridescent Sky”

CHARLIE WEATHERSBY is an independent artist from San Antonio, TX, and has been releasing music since 2017, with the latest release called “Iridescent Sky”.

With this song, we’ll escape from reality for this evening, giving ourselves some time to chill, think, and clear up our minds. This is a 5 minutes track but it feels much shorter thanks to the beautiful arrangement and the warm tones this song emanates: it features charming retro-sounding guitars and 80s synth pads, accompanied by vintage punchy drums and the enchanting voice of Charlie that will guide us through this surreal voyage.

Charlie’s voice makes the tune unique, with a cozy and mellow tone this song can express all the feelings it was meant to give, and nostalgic vibes will literally give you goosebumps when you less expect it.

A great addition to this list for this evening, exactly what we were looking for.

Jonathan Lobo – “Magic”

Last but not least we have an incredibly talented fresh artist from Dubai. his name is Jonathan Lobo, and he released an eclectic new EP called “Love”. This simple title and word easily give an idea of what this EP is about. 

The release is indeed full of meaningful messages, conveyed by Jonathan’s pen and inspired by his life moments. The arrangement and songwriting also sparkle with a bright light of positivity. A honest attempt of spreading a positve message through some electro-pop and indie pop tracks. 

We think Jonathan Lobo succeeded in this, especially with his song Magic, which is the song we are presenting to you today. “Can we have five more minutes of Magic?”, we all have been in that situation, in that magical moment we don’t want to finish, and this song perfectly captures that feeling. 

The bluesy-electronic drums give that groovy foundation that builds up during the song with the enticing acoustic guitar riffs and reverse guitar sounds. A compelling production that fits perfectly with Jonathan’s melody and performance.

It’s time for some chill with Evening Space-tini!

That’s our new format post where we share the best tunes that helped us chill during the evening. Together with a nice cocktail and some good company of course.

For this first edition, we selected some artists and releases that really caught our attention during the last few weeks. Some of the artists are fairly new, yet their sound is already incredibly mature and we thought they definitely deserve a shout-out.

The sunset is showing up and the drink is ready.

Alvvays – “Pharmacist”

Always have alvvays been so much fun to listen to… sorry I’ll rephrase that… ALVVAYS have always been so much fun to listen to. We are incredibly happy they finally return after 5 years of silence. Which they rightly took to spend time writing their upcoming album Blue Rev, which will be out in October. 

We cannot wait to listen to the whole album, but in the meanwhile we can listen to their incredible new single “Pharmacist”.  This song is an explosion of joy, expressed by every instrument in a psychedelic, weird yeat catchy way. 

We are really not surprised this album took so long to finish, the production and sound design are incredible with synths that resemble vintage-sounding ones but always with a modern twist. The fuzzy and noisy guitars give the right punch to the song, remembering that being joyful doesn’t mean being too mellow.

Kristiane ft. Carol Ades – “Before The Night Is Over”

Kristiane might be a fairly new artist in the indie scene, anyway, she has an EP and different singles out already. Their third single of 2022 is the sad acoustic-infused tune “Before the Night Is Over”.  

Melancholy has never been so bittersweet and the parts sung by Carol Ades, featured in this track, give this feeling a third dimension that goes over the song itself. 

These two incredibly catchy vocalists showed us that artists don’t need to sound like other mellow pop/acoustic pop artists in order to do a solid yet catchy tune. The bass and guitar riffs and effects are curated into minimum details creating a very peculiar sound design, different from every other indie tune you might listen around.

Abby Sage – “Pool Party”

We dive into mysterious waters when we listen to Abby Sage. Her sound mixes dark synths with obscure and ethereal guitar tones. A perfect mix of sounds that excels on her last song “Pool Party”.

That’s her second single during this year, and the Nirvana-like riff perfectly matches the melancholic melody. The subtle choirs reminisce some works from Billie Eilish, anyway Abby Sage definitely steps on a darker path with a Grundge-era-sounding production. 

The aggressive bass synth after the chorus and the sudden noise towards the end, winks to some Nine Inch Nails production, and this song would perfectly fit on a David Lynch movie or Tv-series, with its oneiric sound design and theme.

Bloomsday – “Voicemail”

After their first demo, out in 2019, Bloomsday finally put out a series of singles in 2022 which came together on their latest release “Place To Land”. That’s a solid album that conveys some of the emotions of Iris, the singer of the band, in a unique way. 

The song we felt more connected to was “Voicemail”, an indie rock tune with a heart made of folk emotions. Raw and honest, that is a song that will stay in our heads for a very long time. The guitar riffs alternate the scene with the vocals in a very intelligent way, making them the main protagonist of the track. 

It won’t be a surprise if we see this amazing duo playing a tour with Phoebe Bridgers or Julien Baker in the near future. That’s just their first release and they’re already living their mark in the indie scene.

BROCKHOFF – “Ever Since We Met”

BROCKHOFF  is a fairly new music project based in Germany that recently put out its first EP “Sharks”. Born by the mind of a 22 years musician who used to live in a rural space god knows why in Germany, she started making music after moving to Hamburg. 

We don’t know the name of this incredible artist, but we do know one thing: Brockhoff already sounds like a huge band that’s about to take over the world. With a sound that mixes pop rock and the latest indie productions of bands like Soccer Mommy. 

Her last single “Ever Since We Met” out of the EP sounds like pure nostalgia and we loved it. If you grow up listening to rock music during the 90s, well that’s your jam, and you should miss this out.

Goldmyth – “Triptych”

Goldmyth is the music project born by the musician-producer and harpist Jenessa Smith. Yes, exactly, HARPIST, and she indeed plays the harp in the studio and lives. Now with a sick electronic harp, we are speechless. 

That’s not because, if we think about harp we think about memes or lullabies, but because Jenessa is able to merge this instrument in a dreamy way without making you fall asleep. Instead, her last single “Triptych” will make you dance no stop. That’s a Dream Pop, almost dance song that reminisces the 80s sound in a way that doesn’t sound corny at all. 

She’s already played with some big names in the game like MUNA, Clairo and Phoebe Bridgers. She is also about to release her first album by the end of 2022 and we are incredibly thrilled by this news.

Phoebe Go – “The Kid”

Last but not least for our first edition of Evening Space-tini we are going to introduce you to a new artist called Phoebe Go. 

She’s very fresh in the music scene as a solo artist, and she indeed just released her second single called “The Kid”. Anyway, while she just started her solo career her presence in the music industry was already established from other two interesting and successful music projects: Snakadaktal and Two People.

Phoebe has music in her veins, that’s for sure. Working in three different music projects and till make consistent music is something not everyone is able to do. The production on her last tune perfectly merges some catchy yet melancholic vocals with dreamy electric and acoustic guitars. Phoebe probably will never stop making music, and until we are able to listen to her song our ears will be incredibly happy.
