Space Discovery: Dorian – “Reconnected”
Hey Space Travellers,
Here we have an incredible new artist called Dorian, who recently released a new single called “Reconnected”. The track has a Jersey drill rhythm which is infectious and makes the track extremely danceable. The lyrics dive into the exploration of feelings someone feels while trying to reconnect with a loved one. We loved the song from the first second, the intro starts with some melancholic guitars, that already give us Goosebumps. Then Dorian’s vocals are introduced by a subtle reverse effect, a production technique that we really love and fits Dorian’s style. The vocals are incredibly well delivered, and from the get-go, you have that feeling that Dorian’s whole vocal style and timbre are incredibly unique.

Dorian is a storyteller, and multiply uses his voice to not only reconnect with the loved ones but also deeply connect with the listener. The track, while very romantic and uplifting, is still an extremely danceable track, which not only sounds great if we think of ourselves next to the stage singing with the artist but also if we imagine this track played in a busy club night by a very busy DJ who does not use if playing Drake anymore because of the whole beef. Well we say Dorian is a great substitute, yet his style, especially lyricism, reminded us of early Frank Ocean’s works at times. The trap-inspired part that enters in the second verse is an able producer move, that puts Dorian’s vocals in a different realm, but that proves that they can fit anywhere, and still remain relevant.
The instrumentation again is extremely clever. Full of ear candies and moments that you might miss during the first listen. And that’s what we love about music, while Reconnected is catchy from the start, every listen you have of the song will make you appreciate something new about it, like the drum n bass breaks between parts, that we just noticed while listening to the track the fourth time. Dorian’s voice was too good to start analyzing the instrumentals apparently. We loved this artist, and while someone might not reconnect with their loved ones, we definitely felt reconnected with music.
