NEO 10Y – “GODDEX”
Let’s fly to our favorite city in the world, London. Here to wait there’s an incredible artist called NEO 10Y, an eclectic singer who just released his last track called “GODDEX“.
This track expresses in a visceral way, different emotions, NEO 10Y‘s vocals are hypnotic, and his style changes in a drastic way, but always conveys a specific message with that. Supported by very well-curated synths and trap-inspired rhythms, that’s a tune you should absolutely listen to.
HYDE, Mahoney $, SeaJay – “Not A Flex”
That’s the track we want to have a soundtrack to when we enter a club. Of course, that’s the perfect music, if you’re cocky enough to handle it.
Hyde just came back with this new tune called “Not A Flex”. In the track, we have other two talented artists which are Mahoney $ and SeaJay. This rap tune has a very solid beat reminiscing some G-Eazy early works. Hyde’s vocals in the track though, are incredibly peculiar and energetic. LIT!!

Ola Beto and Reiz The RAW M.C. have just released a new track called “Restless”. For this one, we jump to Ontario, Canada. The flow on this one is extremely solid and the beat gives a lot more expression to the vocals. That’s thanks to the mesmerizing guitar track.
The riff is very melancholic, the way we like the most. This sets the right mood for the track and the 808 and hi-hats blend into the mix with a chill rhythm. Such a jam.
Space Discovery: Richard Green
Welcome to our new Space Discovery!
Today we introduce you to one of the greatest composers we’ve come across here at Space Sour: London-based Italian Richard Green, and its new single “Astronaut”. Sounds perfect for our blog, and boy, have I tripped and travelled through space with this track!
“Astronaut” is a blend of EDM and classical music, with a rolling beat and a beautiful accompanying violin, put together in such a skilful manner that each element never clashes with or dominates the other. At first, the track gives off a whiff of ‘90s dance/house before the violin comes in, adding one of the best spices to ever be thrown into a beat like this.
It’s like looking at a classical artwork being painted in front of you now for the first time. And I’m not sure that makes sense, but that’s what I visualised while listening.
The rolling synths interwoven with the violin are just awe-inspiring. The strings are dynamic, alive, moving and evolving into a new direction at every minute. The violin plays an animated composition that would make this stand out as a classical piece on its own, though I have to say the electronic beat makes it even more spectacular and impressive.
This sound would be defined as neo-classical, which suggests a rejection of contemporary art, seen as past its best, and a desire to go back to the balance and harmony of classical art, while bringing into it a piece of modernity and originality.
And yes, EDM definitely hasn’t become stale, but as all genres, it needs renovation every once in a while, and Richard Green went for it, with great results.
“Astronaut” is a contemporary noir movie full of glamorous danger, twists and turns, climaxes and moments of tense calm, definitely a cinematic track. It follows so many different rhythms, tones and schemes, and yet all perfectly layered, that I wished it would never end.
Space Discovery: 6ixth Element
Welcome to our new Space Discovery!
Today Denver-born emcee and producer 6ixth Element’s groovy boom bap sound gives a quick spiritual lecture while filling us with the right energy for the day.
The new golden era of rap envisioned by 6ixth Element is showcased in his latest single “Spiritual Form”, a wise hip-hop track with a funky soul start and a female chorus which hooks you straight away and infects the rest of the track with its vitality. The beat is gripping from start to finish, with a drum loop that gets you moving no matter what and a bubbly sample over which 6ixth Element speaks of taking care of and working on the soul.
6ixth Element gives us conscious rap on kind of a soul beat, with turntabled vocals, some tape recordings and introspectively conversational lyrics spat out in a tight flow.
The sound is classic but with a quality of enlightenment typical of the new generation, which loves to play with old sounds while sprinkling them with a fresh touch of renewed spiritual awareness, and 6ixth Element did this perfectly.
“Spiritual Form” gets you bouncing through the whole track, while giving you space for reflection and empowerment. Lyrics with a particular focus on our approach to human existence over soothing yet dynamic beats represent the main features of the new golden era rap, with different visuals too. 6ixth Element doesn’t smoke a joint in the streets, at a party or on a sofa, but outside the Colorado Buddhist Association, under the statue of what seems to be a Japanese deity playing a biwa, usually associated with music and literature. We can also see close-ups of sculptures of dragons, which this time take on a religious meaning, different from the representations of these mythological creatures which we’re used to in urban culture.
Yet this isn’t the soft side of hip-hop but the awakening of the new generation of hip-hop’s spiritual dragons.
Welcome to Space, 6IXTH ELEMENT!
Congratulations on your new release! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!
6ixth Element is a Denver-born emcee, producer, hip-hop artist and entrepreneur. Having grown up a musician, he began producing hip-hop at age 14. After graduating high-school and starting a family, he studied Audio Engineering and Music Business at KMG Studio in Boulder, Colorado. Using the skills he has acquired over the years, he has established his record label, New Golden Era Hip-Hop, and is ready to bring his brand of hip-hop to the world.
What’s the story behind your latest release?
Although 6ixth does not consider himself a Buddhist or a conscious rapper, he does find himself influenced by Buddhist principles, and enjoys spreading positivity through his music. “Spiritual Form” was written as a way to help the listener confront their fear of the unknown, shed their egos, and focus on what matters most.
What are your plans for the future?
After taking time to build his knowledge, 6ixth Element is more driven and primed for success than ever before! Throughout 2023, 6ixth has monthly singles lined up and waiting to be released, along with an album expected late-2023. 6ixth Element is amongst a wave of new artists who believe that hip-hop only gets better as it ages, and he is here to usher in the New Golden Era…
If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?
I’d bring hardcore hip-hop and gansta rap to the 1950’s. Imagine N.W.A. and 2 Live Crew on American Bandstand.
Space Discovery: Proklaim – “Priceless”
Welcome to our new Space Discovery!
Today the divine is once again a big theme, as in many of our favourite tracks, but what can I say, that’s what we like! Especially when it comes with great production and melodic beats, as in Proklaim’s latest single “Priceless”. Proklaim is a Ugandan emcee based in Namibia, who praises God through his music, and he does it so well he could make an atheist at least hum to it.
The first time I listened to this single, I vibed to it, a hip-hop track with that kind of strong-willed spiritual angle you can find in Kendrick Lamar. But then I listened again. This wasn’t just a hip-hop track that dealt with spirit and vision and reminded me of one of my favourite artists, but it was a composition of new sounds which also borrowed from R&B, trap and lo-fi. Perfect for a chill listening and a moment of contemplation.
The flow is smooth, the sounds ripple through with a watery effect on the snares, and reverbs in the back. The vocals are clear and intense while Proklaim talks of making his way “by the Father’s grace”, not afraid of speaking from his soul, and we can say he’s doing wonders in his journey, at least with his bars and the way he delivers without missing a beat. The rhythm is inescapable and the lyricism great.
The tone of the chorus, almost whispered towards the end, is humble but determined all throughout, perfectly mirroring the concept of the song, while the lo-fi beat in the background flawlessly creates the feeling of elevation the song aspires to give.
Proklaim not only is a craftsman of making music that lifts and inspires, but he won’t disappoint even if you’re not a fan of hip-hop.

Space Discovery: DoosC Feat. Gaya Waska
Welcome to our new Space Discovery!
Get lost in the Sri Lankan rock city believed to have been created by the gods with Luxembourg-based electronic composer and producer DoosC and Italo-Peruvian musician Gaya Waska. They both believe in the power of music to override the barriers of language, and both like exploring cultures, taking a piece of each and putting it into their music.
With “Lost In Sigiriya” they take us to this beautiful soundscape in which you can really feel the vastness of the space around you, with that echoing effect, what sounds like a raga on soft percussions that grow gradually, twinkly sounds and breathy whispers. A female voice, like that of mother earth, sometimes lets out mellow sounds over marimba, pan flutes and a dazzling organic/tropical house beat.
The space also seems to expand with the sound swelling up and tribal chants rising in the air just for a moment, not too long but delightful.
Towards the end singing children’s voices accompany you to the gates of Sigiriya, and you’re out.
Found again. But wasn’t it wonderful to be lost?
This track is like walking in the gardens around a deserted fortress, it encapsulates the feelings you would go through rather than the noises you would hear. There’s no nature or animal sound in it, but it’s as if there was. You can sense all that’s there.
“Lost In Sigiriya” is made of layers of different rhythms, instruments and sounds which make it indisputably enchanting, I would never tire of listening to it. It’s uplifting, almost anthemic, despite having a very few lyrics and mostly vocals you can feel rather than listen to, with sounds beautifully crafted and put together, to create almost a new language. Both DoosC’s and Gaya’s goal to transcend the barriers of language to communicate a feeling, the mood and character of a place with their music was perfectly achieved in this gem of house music made from and for the spirit.
Welcome to Space, Doosc!
Congratulations on your new release! Briefly present yourself to our Space Travellers!
Hello travellers!
This track is a collab between Gaya Waska and myself.
So let Gaya introduce herself first:
Hi! I am Gaya Waska, italo-peruvian musician based in Barcelona (Spain). I see my production as a collage, a fusion between different cultures in a cosmopolitan universe. South American folklore background is a source of inspiration for my work and artistic identity. Electronic music allows to me a playful exploration of different moods and atmospheres and a channel of communication between people.
And back to myself, Hi! I am Pierre-Jean aka DoosC, I am a French musician from Megève in the Alps and I have been living in Luxembourg for 15 years now.
I am an electronic music composer and producer and I believe in music as the universal language of humanity, considering it transcends spoken languages, genders, cultures, etc and is able to convey breathtaking emotions that no other medium can.
What’s the story behind your latest release?
“Lost in Sigiriya” is a meditative journey into Sri Lanka. It is the first song of a trilogy that explores world music and landscapes from three different continents to get inspired for electronic tracks with organic house vibe.
“Lost in Sigiriya” will in particular take you on a journey around this mythical place called Sigiriya which is one of Sri Lanka’s most famous historical monuments. It is so astonishing that residents call this ancient palace and fortress complex the eighth wonder of the world. The Sigiriya rock, made of magma from an extinct volcano, is 200 meters higher than the surrounding forest. It is a place with a unique harmony between nature and human presence.
In the track you can hear the voice of Gaya and some ethnic voices as you go deeper into the track and get lost with them in the jungle in mysterious Sri Lanka.
What are your plans for the future?
Gaya + DoosC : Well, as the trilogy principle suggests we have two more tracks to release, one in January (The Bight of Benin) and one in February (Ayaymama).
Also we have another collab planned together in June this year, so that might again be 2 new tracks from our duo released around 6 months later, so probably the end of 2023 or beginning 2024.
DoosC : I have many other collabs planned in 2023 and each time it is an invitation to discover the musical world of another person, always a great experience.
Gaya Waska : The new year brings many new challenges, an EP on the way and more collaborations.
Live concerts in different countries to connect together with the music.
If you had a time machine, in which era would you travel and which kind of music would you bring with you in the past?
Gaya Waska : I would travel to Ancient Greece and dance to the sound of psychedelic music. I would also take the chance to go to the future and bring with me a classic guitar!
DoosC : I would definitely go back to the 90’s where people were using crazy hardware synth to make electronic music, I would like to witness that. And in return I would show them the crazy things you can now do with just a laptop and music softwares like Bitwig Studio. I would also bring some melodic techno tracks from the likes of ARTBAT, Pretty Pink and Ursarix. That would be an amazing experience!

Space Discovery: MY BABY
Welcome to our new Space Discovery!
Today we travelled far into the galaxies with Dutch-New Zealand trio MY BABY’s latest album “Sake Sake Sake”, in collaboration with Steve Dub, producer of Chemical Brothers, Daft Punk and many others. Yet “galaxies” is just a way to describe the extra-terrestrial places this music takes me to.
MY BABY’s genre seems hard to pin down, but I mean it in the best way. It’s a mix of everything dreamy, dark, edgy, religious, primordial, and futuristic, but if we had to give it a name, it would probably be synth-pop with a few spoons of funk, psychedelic rock, trip-hop and blues, and a pinch of tribal music. I guess the last one especially fits the titles of MY BABY’s previous albums, such as “Loves Voodoo!”, and “Shamanaid”, for which they won an Edison Pop Award. Their name represents the combined imagination of all the band members, and they describe it as a ‘70s girl fantasizing about being a flapper girl and dancer in the ‘20s. They summed it up perfectly, you can feel her in their music, but I’ll try and tell you something more about it.
“Sake Sake Sake” is enthralling and perfectly coherent despite being multiflavoured. EDM meets ‘90s rock, ancient folk chants, and African blues. Beautifully influenced by all these genres, this album contains in it a variety of sounds and yet maintains its strong, unique personality and creates something extraordinarily new.
It is like ritual music, for all moods and for everyone, or nearly. It gets you through each emotion, each rhythm of the heart and mind; you can lie down and listen or get up and dance, practise your sexy moves in front of your mirror, or use it for your own sacred type of celebration.
In “A Dream I Dream” the tremolo in the voice makes it sound like an ancient folk chant, while the dream-pop vibe kicks in with that same soft voice telling you “it’s alright, you’re only dreaming”. Feels like being at the end of a dream, when it all seems to accelerate, things just keep happening, but there’s that voice letting you know you’re not awake.
Then “Stupid” jumps in, much more electronic and futuristic, with distorted voices and acid sounds. “Gasoline” creeps up on you with its blues and trip-hop flavour – I fell in love with it all straight away, the guitar riffs, the voluptuous voice and that bit of Morcheeba’s sound. Magnetic. Big sexy song.
“Cry Baby” gets you in a trance. The initial folk chant-like voice gives a feel of late afternoon melancholy. If this was a choreography, I’d imagine it as belly dancers later moving into the background to leave space to leather-clad Lady Gaga’s background dancers.
“Sake sake sake” has much more of a rock start and keeps the vibe all throughout. It’s the comeback after the breakdown, with a dreamy feel towards the end.
“Don’t Fight It”, like “Cry Baby”, combines elements of chanting and Indian raga with electronic sounds and a dance bassline. It then becomes mean, rock lyrics on EDM bassline, while the raga plays here and there in the background, until a chanting ethereal voice turns into sound, and that sound then turns into rock rage again.
“Everybody Scream” consecrates the album as a proper ritual music piece. It’s a gentle invite to scream and put your hands in the hair from a churchlike choir, with music faintly and slowly starting only towards the end as a perfect build up to the next song into which it melts, “It’s A Setup”, a very rock n roll reflection on reality. “Unlike Before” is two voices with an elegant bass and guitar swelling up into a rolling drum and bass where ‘90s rock meets Moderat. “Nothing’s Gonna Change” closes the album with its slow funk, almost romantic beat accompanying dystopian (or should we say realistic?) thoughts.
“Sake Sake Sake” can be described as a calm day with pouring rain outside, and MY BABY’s attempt at letting both their music and lyrics talk is absolutely successful.
